Project Timeline
The Timeline tab is the running record of what happened on a job—messages, updates, and key decisions—in chronological order. It complements Tasks → Gantt for detailed scheduling.
What appears on the timeline
- Team messages and updates tied to the job
- Entries that document decisions, site activity, or client communication (wording depends on how your team uses the tab)
- Visibility cues such as audience (internal vs client-facing) where configured
Use Timeline in weekly reviews and when you need a defensible history without opening every task or diary entry separately.
Common actions
- Compose a new entry with text (and attachments where supported).
- Filter or scroll by date when catching up after time off site.
- Convert an entry into a task or variation when a timeline note should become tracked work—prefill carries title and context where the app supports it.
Good practice
- Post little and often so the story of the job is continuous.
- Be explicit when something is client-visible vs internal-only.
- When a decision changes price or scope, follow up with a variation so finances match the timeline.
