SiteHut beta 0.4.0

This major beta update introduces more deliberate collaboration between builder and client teams, alongside a substantial refresh of financial documents.

  • Audience-controlled project sharing: Choose whether timeline activity, tasks, and files are visible to builder staff, the builder side, the client team, everyone on the job, or selected people.
  • Safer notifications: Access and notifications are now handled separately, so you can control who can see an item and then choose which of those people should receive an alert.
  • Clearer team boundaries: Project members and roles can be identified as builder-side or client-side, with sharing defaults for each side and an access review when a change could reveal an item to more people.
  • A redesigned invoice workspace: Create and edit invoices in a focused, autosaving workspace with clearer status, payment, issue, credit note, portal link, and document layout actions.
  • Improved quote editing and previews: Quotes now share a more consistent document workflow, with refined layouts and more reliable page previews.
  • More flexible variation documents: Variation paperwork has improved cost, time, signature, and layout controls, including a simpler document format where appropriate.
  • Automatic resource codes: New price book resources can receive a unique code automatically, while imports and supplier links handle matching and creation more cleanly.

This release also adds trial-expiry reminders, strengthens audience-aware search and exports, and improves project loading, deep links, permissions, and mobile document actions.

SiteHut beta 0.3.5

This beta update helps new users get from signup to useful work more quickly.

  • A shorter workspace setup: Onboarding is now a focused five-step journey covering business details, a quick-start pack, features, money settings, and final preferences.
  • Useful next actions: After setup, SiteHut offers direct routes to create a job, add a customer, invite a teammate, or open the sales pipeline.
  • Smoother email verification: A successful verification link can now sign you in securely and take you straight into SiteHut, while preserving the normal login path when extra checks are required.
  • Quicker invitation acceptance: Signed-in users with the matching email can join an invited workspace automatically and continue to their jobs.
  • Clearer first-work guidance: Empty Jobs and Pipeline screens now help distinguish live or won work from enquiries that are still being pursued.
  • Region-aware variation language: US workspaces now use Field Directive and change-request wording where UK workspaces use CVI and CVR terminology.

This release also improves public approval and portal pages, launch documentation, subscription guidance, AI processing reliability, and the interactive product tour on the SiteHut website.

SiteHut beta 0.3.4

This beta update makes workspace finances and procurement easier to monitor across your jobs.

  • Clearer payables: See outstanding, overdue, committed, pending, and retained supplier costs with direct links back to each job.
  • A workspace plant-hire register: Review plant currently on hire across projects, spot overdue or unconfirmed items, and filter by status or search for an order.
  • Simpler finance navigation: Finance tabs now respond more clearly to enabled workspace features and user permissions, with orders, material requests, and plant grouped under Procurement.
  • Safer account creation: New signups collect the user's name and can use an invisible security check to reduce automated registrations.
  • Better mobile variation controls: Simple variation titles, statuses, and primary actions are easier to manage on smaller screens.

This release also improves library layouts, template options, deep links, help content, translations, and documentation about current beta capabilities.

SiteHut beta 0.3.3

This beta update makes the commercial position on simple variations clearer from creation through client decision.

  • Clear price and time positions: Mark pricing as fixed, estimated or indicative, no price change, or not assessed. Time can be definitive, estimated, or recorded as having no impact.
  • Flexible valuation methods: For indicative pricing, select and prioritise a formal quote, contract rates, daywork rates, or actual cost plus an agreed markup.
  • Paperwork matched to the situation: Builder proposals, CVIs, and CVRs now use more specific headings, reasons, valuation wording, and decision sections for the relevant customer and contract context.
  • More explicit client choices: Approval screens and generated documents explain what acceptance, requesting a quote, declining, or disputing means for the work, price, and programme.

This release also improves variation PDF presentation, validation, and the consistency of commercial summaries.

SiteHut beta 0.3.2

This small beta update makes Costing Library simpler and more focused.

  • Resources first: Launch workspaces now open directly on the resource rates grid without showing tabs for estimating features that are still coming soon.
  • Clearer attention filtering: Use Tools and Needs Attention to find resources missing a price, unit, or review.

The supporting Costing Library documentation has also been updated to match the streamlined experience.

SiteHut beta 0.3.1

This beta update makes job performance and variation decisions easier to understand.

  • Clearer job-cost forecasting: See the internal cost budget, committed and accrued costs, actual spend, forecast cost, and forecast margin using consistent definitions across SiteHut.
  • Better budget transparency: Job Costs now explains whether the working budget comes from an internal budget, quote cost build-up, or quote selling value fallback.
  • More complete variation approvals: Clients can see additions, omissions, tax, the amount being approved, current and revised contract totals, and the stated programme impact before deciding.
  • Safer client decisions: Approval, decline, dispute, and request-an-itemised-quote actions use explicit consent wording and can produce a downloadable decision evidence PDF.
  • Cleaner variation documents: Simple variation papers have improved commercial summaries, legal notices, completion information, and PDF presentation.

This release also improves cost-code filtering, labour cost warnings, archived job reporting, finance guidance, and supporting translations.

SiteHut beta 0.3.0

This major beta update focuses SiteHut around the workflows that are ready for everyday use and significantly expands simple variation management.

  • A more focused launch setup: New workspaces start with practical core tools and the simple variation register. Features still being prepared, including estimating, developments, and the full variation workflow, are now clearly marked as coming soon.
  • Stronger variation paperwork: Create clearer builder proposals, confirmations of verbal instructions, and confirmations of verbal requests with the right people, dates, communication method, reasons, valuation basis, and time impact recorded.
  • Clear client outcomes: Record whether a client confirms, approves, declines, disputes, or requests a formal quote. Accepted records move into the instructed variation workflow while preserving a clear audit trail.
  • More professional commercial documents: Variation papers and quotes now use more consistent letterheads, wording, dates, currency formatting, signatures, and contract-aware guidance.
  • Smarter quote templates: Template terms, notes, assumptions, scope, and totals now carry into live quotes more reliably, reducing repeated editing and leftover placeholders.
  • Clearer project setup: Contract and financial setup now better distinguishes business and consumer customers and guides each job toward the appropriate supported workflow.

This release also refreshes the documentation, search routes, feature settings, price-book guidance, and several supporting commercial workflows.

SiteHut beta 0.2.7

This beta update gives My Work a clearer, more consistent layout.

  • Your workload at a glance: Tasks, approvals, snags, RFIs, messages, and items needing attention now remain visible as a consistent set of summary cards, including when a category is clear.
  • Refreshed quick actions: Common actions are easier to recognise with stronger visual grouping, clearer colour cues, and more consistent layouts across screen sizes.
  • A smoother file journey: After uploading from My Work, you can review the project files and return directly to the upload flow without losing your place.
  • Clearer call-off quantities: Blanket-order call-offs now show the relevant unit beside quantities and remaining balances.

This release also includes small mobile layout and variation-register refinements.

SiteHut beta 0.2.6

This small beta update makes project files easier to manage on the go.

  • Clear next steps after uploading: Completed uploads stay visible and provide a direct route to view or review the files.
  • Better mobile file controls: Search, filters, sorting, and file actions are now easier to use on smaller screens.
  • Improved processing and review cards: File names, descriptions, progress, errors, and actions display more clearly on mobile.

This release also includes minor usability and translation improvements across the files area.

SiteHut beta 0.2.5

This beta update strengthens commercial controls while making day-to-day project communication easier to manage.

  • More precise variation time: Record time impacts in both days and hours, with a configurable working-day length for accurate conversions.
  • Safer order call-offs: See the remaining quantity on each blanket-order line and prevent call-offs that exceed the available balance.
  • RFI activity in one place: RFI comments now use the shared activity experience, including unread counts, notifications, and direct links to the relevant conversation.
  • Clearer commercial privacy: Variation amounts and time impacts follow their own permissions, helping each project role see only the information intended for them.
  • Visible file privacy choices: Choose whether uploads are private or shared with the project, with clearer lock and shared indicators throughout the file area.
  • Focused job-cost reporting: Open job-cost reports with selected cost codes and see totals recalculated for that filtered view.

This release also improves variation terminology and layouts, site-team handover of instructed variations, mobile work registers, and the reliability of document and order workflows.
