Punch List is the defect register on Job → Construction. Each punch item has a status, assignee, priority, optional due date, location, and photos.

When to use this

Use punch list for defects and handover items that need an owner and a close-out.

Use Daily log for the day's record. Use RFIs when you need an answer, not a fix.

Before you start

• You can write punch items on the plot or standalone job.
• On a development, pick the plot first. Punch items do not live on the scheme.
• Optional: keep room labels in Settings → Library → Locations.

Open the register

Job → Construction → Punch list for the full list. On a phone, My Work → Add punch item captures one without opening the job first.

Title, location, description, priority, due date, assignee, and photos.

Move status

Typical path: Open → In progress → Ready for inspection → Closed. Rejected sends it back for rework. You can reopen a closed punch item.

From My Work → Punch list you see Assigned to me and Awaiting my review. That tab hides when both queues are empty.

What done looks like

• The defect is on the plot register with a photo and a location the rest of the team recognizes.
• The assignee sees it in My Work.
• Closed items stay on the job; they are not deleted.

Common mistakes

• Looking for every punch item on the job in My Work. My Work is your queue.
• Raising the punch item on the development.
• Titles like "extra" with no location or photo.

Email to a trade, public portal, and permissions

If the subcontractor does not use SiteHut:

1. Open a punch item (or select several) and Send to subcontractor / Email selected to… (needs snags:manage).
2. They get the details (reference such as SNAG-001, title, location, priority, status, due date, description). RFIs on the same share are listed too.
3. If Include online portal link is on under Settings → Subcontractors → Snag & RFI emails, they can update status, upload photos, and comment without an account.
4. Links expire after 30 days. Revoke from the punch item sheet. Portal comments land on Activity & Comments.
