Files
Files on a job holds drawings, specifications, photos, and correspondence. Uploads from the daily log, quotes, and tasks also show here, with filters so you can tell where they came from.

When to use this
Use Files for documents the team should find later: drawings, specs, photos, and letters.
Do not use it as the expense receipt inbox. Receipts for bills live under Bills and expenses.
Before you start
- You can view or write files on this job.
- Optional: workspace file tags under Settings → Files so type filters mean something.
Open Files
Open the plot or standalone job, then Files.
Upload
Drag files onto the page or use Upload File. Use names the rest of the team will recognize (plot, revision, date).
Job → Files dropzone and upload button

Find it again
Filter by type (photos, documents, plans, financial) or sort by date, name, size, or uploader. Group by origin when you need to see only daily log photos or quote attachments.
Origins vs tags
| Filter | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Origin | Where the file was uploaded: general Files, daily log, Activity (listed as Timeline), quotes, tasks, invoices, and similar |
| Type / tags | What kind of file it is, using workspace file tags |
A daily log photo can appear here with origin Daily log. That is the same file, not a second copy you should re-upload.
What done looks like
- The drawing or photo is on the job Files tab.
- Someone else can find it with the job filters or global search.
- Receipts for supplier bills are still in the expense inbox, not mixed in as general files.
Common mistakes
- Re-uploading a daily log photo into Files "so it is in the drawing pack". Filter by origin instead.
- Uploading month-end receipts here instead of Job finances → Bills & expenses.
- Generic names like
scan.pdfon a live drawing set.
Processing queue, size limits, and permissions
Some uploads enter a processing queue (including optional AI details). Approve or fix items that need attention before you treat them as the record.
There is a per-file size limit shown on the Files tab. Very large drawing sets may need splitting or a different transfer method.
Read and write follow your job and workspace files permissions. Read-only roles can download only where their role allows it.
