Final Account

Finances4 min read

Final Account is the job's closing commercial position: original contract value, approved change orders, invoiced, paid, retainage, and remaining balance. It is the position, not a second change register.

When to use this

Use this when you are winding up a job or need one view the office and client can both read.

Do not raise a new extra here. Log that on Change Orders.

Before you start

  • Settings → Features has Final Account on.
  • The job has an approved main quote or recorded contract.
  • The change order register is up to date.

Open Final Account

Job finances → Final Account. Confirm original contract value and which approved change orders are in the contract sum.

Reconcile invoices

Compare invoiced, paid, and remaining. Include retainage where the job uses it.

Close the gaps

Agree or withdraw anything still open on Change Orders so the forecast is defensible. Then raise the remaining invoice.

What done looks like

  • Original, approved changes, invoiced, paid, retainage, and remaining are visible together.
  • Open change order items are either agreed or clearly still pending.

Common mistakes

  • Invoicing remaining work while change orders are still draft.
  • Leaving vague titles on change orders that feed this screen.
  • Treating this tab as the place to create extras.
