SiteHut beta 0.2.4

This beta update improves the experience around client emails and returning to work in SiteHut.

  • Consistent email branding: Invitations, notifications, requests, and commercial documents now use a cleaner branded email layout with more consistent wording.
  • Clearer email subjects: Variation and early-warning emails lead with the job name and include the register reference where available, making messages easier to recognise and find.
  • Better sender copies: Copies of documents sent to yourself now match the original subject, use the full branded layout, include the PDF, and preserve the relevant secure links.
  • Workspace-aware defaults: The copy-to-yourself option now follows your workspace delivery preference and shows the actual sending identity more clearly.
  • Resume where you left off: Reopening the installed app returns you to your last useful SiteHut screen instead of always starting from the beginning.
  • Fresh information after returning: Cached screens can appear quickly while SiteHut checks for updated project information in the background.

This release also includes small reliability fixes for project exports, navigation, document delivery, and commercial reminders.

SiteHut beta 0.2.3

This beta update improves confidence when sending commercial documents, importing resources, and recording simple variations.

  • Send a copy to yourself: Quotes, invoices, purchase orders, and variation documents can now email a copy to your account while the client receives their normal delivery.
  • Simpler delivery choices: Document sending now presents a clearer choice between sending through SiteHut and opening your own email app, with the workspace sending address shown before delivery.
  • More helpful resource imports: Blank spreadsheet rows are ignored, cost types are distinguished from cost codes, incompatible codes are flagged during review, and guidance explains exactly where to fix them.
  • Safer import review: Changing a resource match now rechecks the import before processing, helping prevent an invalid cost-code decision from slipping through.
  • Clearer simple variations: Entering an add or omit value automatically marks the price as assessed, proposed variations explain how time impact will be agreed, and client-facing proposals have a clearer Send to client action.

This release also improves return journeys from document delivery settings and makes several validation messages easier to act on.

SiteHut beta 0.2.2

This beta update focuses on making busy project areas easier to navigate and read on smaller screens.

  • Clearer mobile sections: Long rows of tabs are now replaced by a named section selector across project details, construction, files, expenses, orders, invoices, final account, reporting, team, activity, and tasks.
  • A more reliable job menu: Project menu cards now keep a consistent size, respond more cleanly to touch, and scroll properly on shorter screens.
  • Financial summaries on demand: Finance home and job-cost summary figures can now be opened when needed, leaving more room for the current work on mobile.
  • Cleaner dashboard figures: Key commercial metrics now stack into full-width cards instead of requiring sideways scrolling.
  • Layout consistency: Small spacing, skeleton, and navigation fixes improve transitions between project areas and keep mobile controls predictable.

SiteHut beta 0.2.1

This beta update refines the new 0.2 experience, with clearer commercial views and smoother navigation across desktop and mobile.

  • A cleaner Templates Library: Quote, protection, contract rule, task, and email templates now have focused sections with their own search, actions, starter content, and clearer mobile navigation.
  • Variation documents from the register: Open document options, prepare a variation document, and send it directly from the variation register without first opening the full variation record.
  • Clearer financial summaries: Finance home, project dashboards, and job-cost reports now use consistent summary tiles for budget, committed cost, actual cost, forecast cost, margin, and contract value.
  • Better mobile commercial views: Key figures remain readable in swipeable summary rows, while recommended actions and reporting controls fit more naturally on smaller screens.
  • Navigation polish: Improved project back navigation, tab feedback, loading states, and attention-review wording reduce visual clutter and make the next action clearer.

SiteHut beta 0.2.0

SiteHut beta 0.2.0 is a major step forward in how project information, conversations, and commercial decisions connect across a job.

Conversations in context

  • Activity & Comments: Discuss tasks, site diary entries, commercial records, files, and other project items without losing the connection to the original work.
  • Unread activity: See where new comments are waiting and jump from a notification directly to the relevant conversation.
  • A joined-up project feed: Open record conversations in the main Activity view and return to where you were working afterwards.

A smarter Finance home

  • Commercial position at a glance: See agreed value, cost exposure, invoicing or outstanding value, and forecast margin together.
  • Recommended next step: SiteHut now highlights the most useful commercial action based on the current stage of the job.
  • Focused attention: Review delivery failures, approvals, exceptions, and other items that need action from one clearer view.

Stronger variation control

  • Price and time certainty: Mark variation values as estimated, fixed, or not yet assessed, and record whether time impacts are estimated, definitive, or still unknown.
  • Builder proposals: Create a clearly identified proposed variation for client review before work is instructed.
  • Reusable documents: Save a variation document layout as a workspace template and apply it to future draft documents.
  • A clearer final account: Variations are grouped and labelled more accurately, with additions, omissions, certainty, and status carried through consistently.

Faster everyday delivery

  • Tasks and site diary: Cleaner detail views, Activity & Comments, unread indicators, overdue prompts, and more useful at-a-glance site records.
  • Orders and material requests: Improved lists, attention filters, sorting, and direct access to the full order record.
  • Navigation and loading: Faster project opening, more stable loading screens, clearer return journeys, and smoother scrolling across large lists.

This release also includes broad consistency and reliability improvements across quotes, expenses, invoices, files, reporting, calendars, notifications, and workspace settings.

SiteHut beta 0.1.41

This beta update expands the simple variation register and makes resource price-list imports easier to understand.

  • Additions and omissions: Record separate add and omit values when creating or editing a variation, with the correct net value carried into the final account.
  • Statuses that fit the variation: Variation requests, received instructions, and confirmations now use status choices and labels suited to their workflow, including Approved by Client and Rejected by Builder where relevant.
  • More flexible updates: Simple variations can be updated throughout their lifecycle, with changes saved automatically.
  • Approved requests: When a client approves a variation request, the register now treats it as an instructed variation.
  • Clearer Library imports: A new column guide explains each resource-import field, while improved validation distinguishes estimating cost codes from resource types and shows more useful row errors.

SiteHut beta 0.1.40

This beta update improves variation recording for jobs using the simple workflow.

  • Record client instructions: Builders can now record a variation instruction or request received from their client without needing client or Contract Administrator authority themselves.
  • Clearer variation types: Each option now explains whether you are proposing a variation, recording one received from the client, or confirming a verbal instruction or request.
  • Appropriate safeguards: The full variation workflow continues to apply its existing authority checks when formal instructions are issued.

SiteHut beta 0.1.39

This beta update makes expense approval responsibilities clearer and more accurate.

  • Focused approval queues: Approvers now see only the submitted expenses they are eligible to review, including expenses assigned directly to them.
  • Accurate actions: Approve and return actions appear only when the current user can act on that expense.
  • Separation of duties: When another approver is available, expense creators no longer see their own submission as ready for them to approve.
  • Supplier creation: Suppliers created from an expense now default to the correct Directory category.

SiteHut beta 0.1.38

This beta update focuses on reliability and clearer feedback while processing receipts and loading the app.

  • Receipt scanning: Improved compatibility and reliability when extracting invoice dates, totals, and line items from uploaded receipts.
  • Clearer recovery: If a receipt cannot be read automatically, you can now try again, enter it manually, or open support directly from the receipt queue.
  • Smoother loading: Fixed brief visual overlap between the loading screen and the workspace during sign-in and navigation.
  • Update notices: Improved the layout of update prompts on smaller screens so they remain fully visible and easier to use.

SiteHut beta 0.1.37

This beta update gives expenses a more focused workflow from receipt capture through to approval and accounting.

  • A redesigned expense editor: Enter and rearrange lines more easily, keep extra coding details tucked away until needed, and create or select suppliers without leaving the expense.
  • Smarter receipt coding: Scanned lines now suggest suitable cost types and cost codes using your Library and workspace setup, ready for you to review.
  • Clearer approvals: See when approval is required, who will receive it, and whether an expense can be approved immediately before submitting.
  • Safer draft entry: New expense drafts are saved as you work, helping protect longer entries if you close the panel and return later.
  • Simpler spreadsheet imports: Import common expense spreadsheets with more flexible column names, clearer validation, better tax and cost-code matching, and a concise review before processing.
  • Library imports: Resource imports can now match imported cost codes to existing workspace cost codes during review.

Supplier price selection and background receipt processing have also been made more responsive and reliable.
